A Message from the Music Director

Dear Friends in Christ,

Congratulations on your engagement! This is an exciting time for you, your spouse-to-be, and your families. We are excited to host your wedding at St. Anthony of Padua.

To assist you in planning your wedding, our ministry has provided you with this liturgy workbook. Please use this workbook to reflect on the relationship you and your spouse-to-be share with Jesus Christ.

To better assist you, especially if you are not familiar with the Order of the Mass or may need some refreshing, brief explanations of what is happening during this time during the liturgy, have been provided.

Unlike what is often portrayed in the media and what is often practiced in Protestant churches, the Roman Catholic Church does not allow, under any circumstance, the use of secular music. Only the music provided in this booklet may be selected for your wedding. We understand that some other Catholic parishes, perhaps even here in Las Vegas, will often “bend the rules,” but at St. Anthony of Padua, we feel that cheapens the liturgy and the intent of the Mass.
