Music Ministry
About the Music Ministry
The Music Ministry at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church is responsible for providing music at seven of our eight Masses. The Music Ministry is composed of professional musicians (including performers on the “Strip,” trained liturgical musicians, and music educators), volunteers, and students.
Our music program is open to anyone that is interesting in joining.

The Choir of St. Anthony’s
The Choir of St. Anthony’s is the parish’s oldest ensemble. This choir provides music for all of the church’s highest liturgical celebrations. Additionally, The Choir of St. Anthony’s produces three to four concerts and prayer services a year. Under the direction of William Paul Freeman, Director of Music Ministry, and accompanied by Steven Borzage, Organist, the choir boasts around thirty members.
Choir practices are held Saturday afternoons at 2:30 PM before the 4 PM Choral liturgy. Additional practices are held, as needed, to meet the liturgical demands of the parish.
The Spanish Choir
The Spanish Choir of St. Anthony’s provides music at all Spanish liturgies within the parish. The Spanish Choir often collaborates with the Choir of St. Anthony’s for feast day Masses, retreats, and concerts. The Spanish Choir practices at 6 PM on Saturday evenings before the 7 PM Spanish liturgy.
The Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir of St. Anthony’s is starting in November 2017. Under the direction of our parish’s Director of Music Ministry, a licensed elementary educator in the Clark County School District, this ensemble is open to all children in second through eighth grade. This choir’s inaugural performance will be in December 2017. For more information, please contact the office.
Praise and Worship Band
Developed to meet the increasing demands of a liturgy geared toward young adults, the Praise and Worship Band at St. Anthony’s is in its infancy. This group ministers at the 2 PM Saturday Mass, a Mass growing in attendance. Geared toward ministering using music written in the last decade, this group presents the latest in Church and Christian music.
Cantors
Volunteer and professional cantors at the parish are vocalists that demonstrate exceptional vocal ability, desire to minister, and command of Catholic liturgy. These musicians work very closely with the Director of Music Ministry, William Paul Freeman, and Organist, Steve Borzage. A successful audition is required to serve in this capacity.
Mass Settings
Recognizing the diverse needs of our parishioners, the St. Anthony of Padua Music Ministry utilizes several different musical settings of the Mass. These settings are used during different times of the year and for specific pastoral needs. The settings used at St. Anthony’s are listed below:
